Stories in life give us tales of people, animals, meaning, and more. What defines them? As long as we’re on the topic of “definitions,” what defines you? Here are some questions to ask yourself and a story at the end for you to consider.
What Defines Me?
Is it where I come from?
Is it how I look, the color of my skin or my eyes? Talk?
What I do or do not do?
Do I define myself by my age, culture, economics, feelings, sex or physical maladies?
Is it about my political point of view and those I listen to?
What Defines You?
Whose hands is your life in now?
Do the words of others make you “YOU”?
Is your definition about your anger or your fear?
Are you grateful for anything and define yourself by gratitude?
Do you let OTHERS define you?
Can you give yourself permission to make a new choice?
Goals. Success. Accomplishments.
You can change your hair by putting on a wig, put colored contacts in your eyes, paint your face, and put on a new costume.
You can find a new script, practice it until you know it, and play a new part.
You can give yourself permission to find what you enjoy, appreciate, and love.
You can learn the true meaning of the person you choose to be and move forward in your own life … walking your truth. Self empowered.
What if …
You noticed your unique character strengths and virtues?
You found an upside to that unique and special trait?
You used the materials you have at hand and made the best of that?
You let yourself be …
Beauty is in the Eye of the One Who Sees
