Cat Wilson set about a journey in building her artistic skills in July of 2015. What she discovered along the way was much more! Now, she wants to share the journey with you! You are invited to celebrate the Artist’s Journey on December 5th!
Setting out to better train her hand, Cat practiced quick sketching of people throughout Washington, Oregon, and California. Sketch pad in hand, she watched people and filled blank pages with what she perceived in the moment.
Every day it was different. Some days she focused on drawing individuals while watching people in meetings, lectures, workshops, cafes, restaurants, and small shops. She tried her hand at couples talking, groups, and eventually meeting rooms. She looked for expressions on men, children, how people were relating as they sat talking over drinks in cafes.
Originally her intention was to reconnect with her love of drawing, appreciating people, and learning life drawing. She found how drawing from life brings so much more to the scene as you view people in the moment. She was surprised at what else she discovered on the journey. It was far more than drawing!
At one point, she decided to give her sketch away. She found that people loved it! Even more exciting were the comments that people shared.
Now that she has done over 200 sketches, she is inviting you in to see some originals, and photographs of the sketches given away, along with a special presentation on her journey.
